I do enjoy mystery and thrillers when I read them, but I tend to gravitate more toward fiction set in a specific place that also features as a "character" in a way. Sometimes this is historical fiction, or sometimes it is magical realism. Isabelle Allende would be a good example of an author I enjoy!
